A music promoter needed creative support for advertising an upcoming live music show featuring multiple rock bands. The bands requested a dark, macabre theme that would appeal to their local rock fan base.
Poster Design
I sketched out a rough layout centered around a guitar held by a zombie arm coming out of a grave in a graveyard. There weren’t many resources available for the image, so I decided to create custom art (see below). Similarly, since there was no creative, I decided to develop a logo inspired by type treatment from several heavy metal band logos and album covers.
Original Oil Painting
I sourced several images off of the internet as source material for the background. The guitar is based off a flying V style guitar. The dirt and grass was added in photoshop. The bottom half was left stark to allow for band logos and event details.
Logo Design
The original logo design is inspired by classic and metal rock band logos and type treatment.
