MOVING ANNOUNCEMENT
I was asked to create a postcard to announce a change of residence. The owner wanted to acknowledge the history surrounding the address of the new apartment in lower Manhattan.
Announcement Design
To commemorate the street’s famous namesake, the Marquis de Lafayette, I created a montage combining a recent photo of the exterior of the apartment building with figures from E Percy Moran’s painting Baptism of Fire (1909) which portrays the American Revolutionary War hero (and an enthusiastic drummer boy).
Back Design
The back of the postcard announcement leverages the timing of the move (January 2021) in the headline with several nods to the General in the supporting copy.
