AROUND
THE HOUSE
A business owner in the Albany, NY, area needed help establishing a look for his new enterprise, a home remodeling and construction service. With the name already chosen and licensed, Around the House, he contracted me to help develop a logo and brand identity to market his business. I created the logo, as well as T-shirt and business card designs, to help him get started.
Logo Design
I chose to leverage a couple key tools used in the industry to help identify the business and bring some character to the logo. A hammer is probably one of the most recognizable instruments used in the trade, making for a very immediate understanding. The square is meant to symbolize a roof, and, as a measuring and squaring device, it is also meant to imply quality and attention to detail.
We chose a pallet of a muted medium blue and gray on strong recommendation by the client.
T-shirt Design
The medium light gray t-shirt aligns with the color palette and would maintain appearance on the job as it is not as susceptible to showing dirt.
